MAHA Interstate Travel Notification - NEW POST COVID 2020

Participation in the sport of hockey includes possible exposure to, and illness from, infectious diseases including but not limited to: MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19.

While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness, injury, and death does exist.

The Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) expects that all ice rinks, leagues, associations, coaches, players, volunteers and parents will abide by all USA Hockey and MAHA rules, policies and procedures related to the Covid-19 crisis and all mandates and restriction from local governments and the State of Michigan, including those communicated by the Governor through Executive Orders.

This includes restrictions in jurisdictions outside of Michigan. The MAHA is committed to providing a safe environment for its participants/spectators consistent with all applicable mandates and best practices.

To that end, the MAHA does not encourage out-of-state travel for the 2020-2021 season or travel that requires overnight lodging.

If a team intends to travel out of the State of Michigan for the 2020-2021 season, it is expected that the local association and/or team will complete this form and submit to the MAHA within 10 days prior to the proposed travel and regardless of whether there will be overnight lodging.

MAHA will review the form and verify intended travel meets both state's guidelines. Information will be kept on file in case notification of either party is needed at a later date.
